A taxonomic species within the familyAmaranthaceae — prickly saltwort, or prickly glasswort, an annual plant that grows in salty, sandy soils along the shores of Baltic Sea, North Sea and the European Atlantic Ocean.
The species is better known by its synonym (now considered incorrect), Salsola kali. In North America, this is usually an error for Kali tragus
