A standard feature of many PBXs that automatically routes incoming calls to the next available agent, scanning agent ports in a predetermined, rigid hunt pattern. A UCD serves many of the same functions as an automatic call distributor (ACD), but lacks the same level of intelligence and, therefore, is much less capable. See also ACD.
Alternative spelling of µcd.
Origin of ucd
- Derived from the similarity between the letter u and the Greek letter µ.
