Bowie bond Finance Definition
Asset-backed
bonds whose interest and principle payments are collateralized by the music
publishing royalties of rock musician David Bowie. Originally $55 million of
the bonds were sold in 1997. Since then, other asset-backed issues based on intellectual
property have been issued, including bond issues based on revenue from James
Brown and the Isely Brothers.
