side circuits Telecom Definition
Two pairs of electrified metallic circuits arranged in parallel on the line side of the network and from which a phantom circuit is derived by means of center-tapped transformers known as repeating coils. Each side circuit is a circuit unto itself at the same time it acts as one conductor of the phantom circuit. See also circuit, line side, phantom circuit, and transformer.
