• Symptoms - Progressive memory loss, uncontrollable shaking and shivering, loss of ability to function within social norms (saying and doing inappropriate things), and the inability to hold their hands still or stand still for any period of time.

• Cause - Proteins in the brain break down and spread out to areas where they are not supposed to be, leading to a sort of brain short-circuiting.
• There is no cure available; but, there are treatments and medications that can improve longevity and quality of life.
