Levitt, William Finance Definition
A
real estate developer who created a major innovation in the U.S. housing
industry by building a mammoth residential subdivision after World War II. It
consisted of over 17,000 homes that were nearly identical. The subdivision,
which soon took the name Levittown, was built on Long Island in New York state.
