Traveler's Check Definition

An internationally redeemable draft issued by a major financial services company in various denominations and payable only upon the purchaser's endorsement against the original signature on the draft.

A kind of check, usually one of a set and sold in any of several denominations, purchased by a traveler to carry in place of currency and used to make purchases or to exchange for cash.

An instrument with a monetary face value that can be redeemed at locations other than one’s own financial institution. Generally accepted in all countries, a traveler’s check must be countersigned in presence of one who is accepting the traveler’s check as payment.
