A product or investment that produces a large return within a short period. For example, an investor might purchase shares in an initial public offering that moves sharply upward in subsequent trading in the secondary market.
An inside cable and wire star configuration in which each telephone or data jack connects directly to a common point, such as a demarcation point (demarc), wiring closet, or key service unit (KSU).
