The definition of axis of evil is a term that former United States President George W. Bush used to describe countries which he thought were involved with terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.

An example of countries identifed by Bush as the axis of evil were Iran, Iraq and North Korea.

Origin of axis-of-evil

First used by President George W. Bush in the State of the Union Address in 2002 . Possibly from a historical analogy to the German-Italian-Japanese Axis. Extended to astrophysics by João Magueijo in 2005.
