Whether for education or entertainment, the Webisode is the online equivalent of a network or cable TV series, and the first ones date back to the mid-1990s. Webisodes come in all flavors from amateur to very professional and well-funded, and many of them are the Web version of network TV series. Available on various websites, including YouTube and Vimeo, Webisodes were the first TV/video series on the Internet prior to the rise of the major streaming services such as Netflix and Prime Video.
