Origin of queem

From Middle English quemen "to please" from Old English cwēman "to gratify, satisfy, please" from Proto-Germanic *kwēmijaną (“to please, be convenient, suit”), from Proto-Germanic *kwemaną (“to come”), from Proto-Indo-European *gʷem- (“to go, come”). Compare obsolete Swedish kväma, Danish kvemme. Related to come.
