(entomology) A chrysalis.
From Latin Aurelia, the feminine form of the Roman gens name Aurelius, from aureus (“golden”).
Along the west coast the Via Aurelia ran up to Pisa and was continued by another Via Aemiia to Genoa.
A similar ocellus is formed in Aurelia among the Scyphomedusae (q.v.).
By the lex Aurelia (70 B.C.) the list of judices was composed, in addition to senators and equites, of tribuni aerarii.
Later on the name Latium entirely disappeared, and the name Campania extended as far as Veii and the Via Aurelia, whence the medieval and modern name Campagna di Roma.
In Oneonta are a state normal school (1889), a state armoury, and the Aurelia Fox Memorial Hospital.
