After you sound out the word, you can identify the letters in the word which will give you a good head start on spelling the word.
Say the word slowly, and make sure that you are accounting for all the syllables. For example, ed-u-ca-tion.
Then, start to spell the word, syllable by syllable.
You can finger spell on your hand; or, you can create the letters in the air. Either way, finger spelling lets you visualize the correct spelling.
An easy way to create your own custom flash cards is to create a word list on YourDictionary and then create flash cards of the words on your word list. It's easy, and it really improves your spelling.
