Programmed Instruction Definition

A method of teaching in which the information to be learned is presented in discrete units, with a correct response to each unit required before the learner may advance to the next unit.

Instruction in which individual students answer questions about a unit of study at their own rate, checking their own answers and advancing only after answering correctly.
