Zulu-time meaning

Also known as Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the latter of which is used for civilian purposes. The world is divided into 25 integer time zones, each of which is identified by a letter in the English alphabet. (Note: There is no time zone J.) The clock at Greenwich, England, is the standard clock for international time reference, and is referred to in military and aviation parlance as the Zulu (Z) Time, as it is in the time zone designated by the letter Z. On a personal note, I live in the Mount Vernon,Washington area of the United States. Mount Vernon is on the West Coast, which is in the Pacific Standard Time (PST) zone, which is time zone U (Uniform), which is Z -8 hours, or, more correctly, UTC.
Alternative form of Zulu time.
