Snake Dance Definition

A ceremonial dance by American Indians involving the handling, imitation, etc. of snakes; esp., a ceremony performed every two years by the Hopi Indians, in which live rattlesnakes are handled.

An informal parade in which those taking part move along behind each other in a long, winding line.
