Skywave meaning

An electromagnetic wave that propagates upward in space, rather than either close to or through the ground. A skywave may continue upward through the ionosphere and into space, or may be returned to Earth by either ionospheric reflection or refraction. Radio signals in the medium frequency (MF) range and above are considered skywaves. See also ground wave and surface wave.
