Origin of mesology
- meso- + -logy; a compound with components derived from Ancient Greek μέσος (mésos, “meso-, middle”) + -λογία (-logía, “-logy, branch of study”). The term arose in various European languages c. 1850, but did not exist in Ancient Greek.
