SRS (Shared Registry System) Telecom Definition
A system of databases shared by Internet domain registrars for coordination of domain name assignment to ensure that duplicate names are not assigned. All domain names are maintained in mirrored databases on root Domain Name Servers (DNSs) distributed around the world. See also DNS and root.
