poc - Computer Definition
Referring to the incorporation of push-to-talk (PTT) technology in a cellular radio handset. Although the PTT CB radio-like technology is relatively primitive by cellular standards, it offers considerable advantages in group communications applications, as the transmission is broadcast to all devices on the channel. PoC and PTT, in general, are especially appropriate for short, immediate voice interactions and can be characterized as voice instant messaging (IM). See also cellular radio, IM, and PTT.
(1) (Proof Of Concept) See PoC exploit.
(3) (Power Over Coax) Using coaxial cable to send PoE (Power over Ethernet) signals a distance of a half mile or more. The PoC device converts PoE to a coaxial-compatible signal that is transmitted to the PoC unit at the other end. See PoE.
