Etymology: OFr Morgain la fée, lit., Morgan the fairy < Celt, as in OIr Morrigain, queen of the incubi, sorceress < *mor- < IE base *mori- (see mare) + OIr rigain, queen < IE base *reg-, to rule: see regal
