An extensive family of Systems-on-Chip (SoCs) from Qualcomm that is used in Android and Windows smartphones and other products. Introduced in 2007, the very popular Snapdragon chips are powered by Qualcomm's ARM-based Scorpion, Cortex, Krait and Kryo processors and Adreno graphics processing units (GPUs). For example, in 2017, Samsung introduced its eight-core, Snapdragon-based Galaxy S8 smartphone with a Kryo 280 CPU and an Adreno 540 GPU. See Qualcomm and SoC.
