Call-date definition
A specific date on which a bond can be redeemed before it reaches maturity. A bond typically can be redeemed at the discretion of the issuer at par (face value). In some circumstances there may be special requirements surrounding the specific call-date features. Those will be spelled out in the bond’s prospectus.
