transitive verb, intransitive verb pronated -·nat′ed, pronating -·nat′·ing

  1. to rotate (the hand or forearm) so that the palm faces down or back
  2. to rotate (the foot) outward and tip it so that the inner side of the sole contacts the ground in walking or running

Etymology: < LL pronatus, pp. of pronare, to bend forward < L pronus: see prone
