Detailed Experience

Alyssa began writing for YourDictionary in August 2021. She received her B.A. in English at Gardner-Webb University where she also served as the Editor in Chief of the school's publication The English Channel as well as an editor for The Broadriver Review. She then went on to receive her M.A. Professional Writing from Liberty University, where she published her thesis “English as a Lingua Franca: Improving Technical Writing and Communication Methods for International Audiences” in 2020. While working on her Master’s, she expanded her portfolio as a freelance writer and editor. She has been published on platforms such as FluentU and The Odyssey Online and contributed her writing skills to a variety of small businesses, B corporations and nonprofit organizations. She has also taught ESL and English to students of all ages and backgrounds. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys writing her own fiction and poetry, exploring local arts festivals and sights, and learning new things.
