a man who practices pederasty
Origin of pederastFrench pédéraste ; from Classical Greek paiderastēs
A man who has sexual relations, especially anal intercourse, with a boy.
Origin of pederastGreek paiderastēs : pais, paid-, child; see pedo–2 + erastēs, lover (from erasthai, to love).
- The term pederast has sometimes been incorrectly used to describe men sexually involved with pre-pubescent girls, or child-rapists who don't have any ongoing relationship with the child. For an adult fixated on only sexual involvement with prepubescent children, or for heterosexual child-eroticism, pedophile is used instead.
From Ancient Greek παιδεραστής (paiderastēs, “lover of boys”), from παῖς (pais, “boy”) and εραστής (erastēs, “lover”).
