Zia Ul-Haq Mohammad Definition

zēə o͝ol-hăk, -häk
Pakistani politician. An army general, he led the military coup d'état that overthrew Prime Minister Ali Bhutto (1977). As president (1978–1988) he postponed general elections, had Bhutto executed, and introduced strict Islamic law. He was killed in an airplane explosion.
