A China-based manufacturer of Android smartphones. Introduced in 2014, the OnePlus One is a 5.5" unlocked Android phablet with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and 3GB RAM that runs the Cyanogen version of Android. The One was widely praised for its quality and USD $349 price tag (64GB), less than half the cost of top-of-the-line phones on the market. OnePlus devices are sold directly from the OnePlus website, initially by invitation only (www.oneplus.net). OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X In 2015, the OnePlus 2 added a fingerprint scanner, USB Type C port and dual SIM capability at a slightly higher price. Running OnePlus' own OxygenOS rather than Cyanogen, the 2 is slightly thicker than the One. To compete in a wider market, an entry-level OnePlus X model was also introduced with a smaller screen and fewer features. See CyanogenMod. OnePlus 3 In 2016, the OnePlus 3 is slightly thinner and lighter and offers Dash Charge (fast charging), more RAM, NFC and 4K video.
