Light-weight-vehicle-sales definition

An economic indicator, little-watched outside of the automobile industry, that tracks total sales and leases of domestic and imported new cars and lightweight trucks, which are trucks that weigh up to 10,000 pounds. The data measures both consumer and business sales, and is collected by Ward’s Automotive Reports and the American Automobile Manufacturers Association (AAMA). It is seasonally adjusted by the U.S. Commerce Department, and released every 10 days, or 3 times a month.
