Equity Capital Markets Department Definition
other
A department in an investment bank that is the intermediary between the firm’s investment banking activities, which include debt and capital raising and merger advice, and the firm’s traders. Because the firm’s investment bankers may be working on confidential deals that could cause turmoil in the markets, the equity capital market department serves as a buffer between the bankers and the market traders.
