Balkan-mountains meaning

A major mountain range of southeast Europe extending about 560 km (350 mi) from eastern Serbia through central Bulgaria to the Black Sea. The Balkans are a continuation of the Carpathian Mountains and rise to 2,376 m (7,795 ft).
