It flows E.N.E as far as Yakutsk (62° N., 127° 40' E.), where it enters the lowlands, after being joined by the Olekma, also from the right.

They built small vessels at Yakutsk on the Lena, 900 m.
The total yield annually amounts to some 700,000 oz., the largest quantity coming from the Olekminsk, district in the province of Yakutsk, and this district is followed by the Amur region, the Maritime province, and Nerchinsk and Transbaikalia.
Uninterrupted water communication could readily be established from Tyumen to Yakutsk, Aldansk, and the goldmines of the Vitim.
