adjective

  1. designating or of a film made for projection on a screen much wider than it is high: usually from a ratio of 1.66 to 1 up to 2.55 to 1
  2. designating, of, or designed for a similar format for video, with a ratio of 1.78 to 1 or more a widescreen TV set
