- The transfer of goods from one conveyance to another for further transport. For example, fish may be transferred from a small fishing vessel to a larger cargo ship.
- Shipping goods to an intermediate destination where they are reshipped to the ultimate buyer. For example, a munitions manufacturer ships weapons to a country for reshipment to another country, where weapon sales are prohibited by the manufacturer's government.
