YMODEM

YMODEM definition - telecom
An improvement on the XMODEM file transfer protocol that transfers data in blocks of 1,024 bytes, performs a cyclic redundancy check (CRC) on each block, supports the transfer of multiple files in a batch transmission, and supports file transfer abort. XMODEM and YMODEM have largely been replaced by ZMODEM. See also CRC, protocol, XMODEM, and ZMODEM.
