XMPP definition - telecom
The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) specification (RFCs 3920-3923) for an open XML technology for real-time communications, including instant messaging (IM), presence, and whiteboarding. XMPP is based on Extensible Markup Language (XML). See also IETF, IM, presence, whiteboarding, and XML.
