wideband definition - telecom
- A circuit or channel with capacity greater than narrowband. See also narrowband.
- A circuit or channel with bandwidth wider than normal for operation. See also bandwidth.
- A radio channel covering a relatively wide range of frequencies. Ultra-Wideband (UWB) for example, is a radio system with occupied bandwidth (i.e., the difference between the highest and lowest frequencies in the radio channel) greater than 25 percent of the center frequency. See also bandwidth.
- Wideband sometimes is used interchangeably with broadband. See also broadband. (I promise that I don't make these things up. I just explain them as they are.)
