wavelength band definition - telecom
A continuous group, or range, or wavelengths with an upper limit and a lower limit. In analog terms, bandwidth and channel width are defined as a range of frequencies. The ITU-T defines standard optical transmission windows in bands of wavelengths. See also wavelength and window.
