UL definition - telecom
An independent, for-profit laboratory that has developed a large number of safety standards against which it offers testing and certification services for potentially hazardous products, including electrical equipment, marine products and life-saving devices, fire suppression and fire containment equipment, and heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment.
