U-NII definition - telecom
Radio spectrum in the 5 GHz range made available for use on an unlicensed basis in the United States. Indoor applications include wireless LANs (WLANs) such as 802.11a (Wi-Fi5) and HiperLAN. Outdoor applications include wireless local loop (WLL). See also 802.11a, HiperLAN, Wi-Fi-5, WLAN, and WLL.
