truck roll

truck roll definition - telecom
Referring to the need to dispatch a technician in a truck to install, move, or somehow reconfigure an item of equipment or a wire and cable system, or perhaps to respond to a service call or network outage. Because a truck roll is expensive, service providers tend to prefer networks and network elements that are self-healing or that can be configured and reconfigured remotely.
