A TCP/IP protocol functioning at the Application Layer,TELNET provides terminal emulation service over a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) connection, enabling the user to assume control over the applications that reside on a remote system.Virtual network terminal services permit the data terminal equipment (DTE) to emulate other terminal devices, transparently.
