Originally Bell Communications Research (Bellcore), the research and development arm of the Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs). SAIC acquired the company 1988 and changed the name to Telcordia Technologies in April 1999, with the stated focus of emerging technologies.Telcordia is now a private, standalone organization involved in the development of OSSs and network management software, as well as consulting, testing, and research services.
