TA definition - telecom
Synonymous with ISDN modem. An interface adapter for connecting one or more non-ISDN devices (e.g., telephone sets or PCs) to an ISDN network. A TA is ISDN data communications equipment (DCE) that performs protocol conversion for equipment that is not ISDN-compatible. See also DCE, ISDN, modem, and protocol.
