subcarrier definition - telecom
A frequency channel that occupies only a portion of RF bandwidth allocated to the carrier and, therefore, has a smaller information capacity.A subcarrier sometimes is used for signaling between stations on a network. See also bandwidth, carrier, channel, frequency, RF, and signaling.
