streaming mode service definition - telecom
In asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), a type of service used for framed data in which multiple interface data units (IDUs) are passed in a data stream. Streaming mode service is supported by ATM Adaptation Layer 3/4 (AAL3/4). AAL3/4 also supports message mode service, a type of service for framed data in which only one IDU is passed.
