simple mode

simple mode definition - telecom
A mode defined by the ITU-T T.37 standard for Fax over Internet Protocol (FoIP). Simple mode uses the Tagged Image File Format-Fax (TIFF-F) S-profile and restricts fax transmission to the most popular fax machine formats (e.g., standard or fine resolution and standard page size). Simplemode provides no confirmation of delivery. See also facsimile, FoIP, full mode, resolution, T.37, and TIFF-F.
