progressive scanning definition - telecom
The process of refreshing a video screen that involves displaying all horizontal scan lines sequentially in one frame, rather than refreshing all odd lines then all even lines. Progressive scanning avoids the problem of interline flicker associated with interlaced scanning. See also interlaced scanning and scanning.
