Layer 6 of the seven-layer Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) Reference Model. Software at the Presentation Layer performs functions related to data format and display (e.g., fonts, tabs and line and page breaks), code (e.g., Baudot, ASCII, EBCDIC, Unicode, and HTML) and code conversion (e.g., HTML to ASCII), text compression and decompression (e.g.,WinZip), and encryption (e.g.,AES and DES).
