PoC
PoC definition - telecom
Referring to the incorporation of push-to-talk (PTT) technology in a cellular radio handset. Although the PTT CB radio-like technology is relatively primitive by cellular standards, it offers considerable advantages in group communications applications, as the transmission is broadcast to all devices on the channel. PoC and PTT, in general, are especially appropriate for short, immediate voice interactions and can be characterized as voice instant messaging (IM). See also cellular radio, IM, and PTT.
